You’ve got questions on your mind

We’ve got answers that will help put you at ease.

Pull up a chair and let’s dive in:

Is Kinbridge senior living? Or do you accept younger adults with disabilities?

Kinbridge at Oviedo is an intergenerational community that welcomes both seniors and younger adults with disabilities. We believe in the value of diverse age groups living together in a supportive environment. Our community is specially designed to provide appropriate care, life skills classes, and social engagement opportunities for residents of various ages and abilities. Our residents say this is what we do best.

How do you ensure younger residents with disabilities aren't isolated in a senior environment and vice versa?

We consider this one of our biggest draws, not an obstacle that needs to be overcome. Intergenerational living benefits both the younger and older generations. Older generations benefit from a youthful perspective, and younger residents benefit from the wisdom and guidance that more senior residents can provide.

Our staff is specifically trained to support the unique needs of each resident while fostering meaningful connections across generations. This intergenerational approach truly creates a rich, diverse environment that benefits everyone in our community. We can’t wait for you to see it for yourself.

What makes your life skills training program different from other assisted living facilities?

Our Life Skills Program is 100% personalized. Unlike traditional assisted living facilities, we focus on developing independence through practical workshops in cooking, financial management, social skills, and communication.

Each resident receives a customized development plan based on their life, developmental stage, and goals. Our trained staff provides the right balance of support and encouragement– empowering residents to gain confidence and greater self-sufficiency in an environment that’s been praised for its safety and nourishment.

Do you accept Medicaid or other funding sources for adults with disabilities?

Yes. We work with various funding sources, including Medicaid waivers, to make our community accessible to adults with disabilities. Our team has experience navigating the complexities of these programs and can assist families and case managers with understanding eligibility and application processes. We help residents and their families find sustainable funding solutions for long-term care and support. Because money shouldn’t be the reason you don’t get the care you deserve.

How do you address the transition period for new residents, especially those who may be reluctant to move?

For families: We establish clear channels of communication with families and healthcare providers from day one. Family members receive regular updates about their loved one's wellbeing and activities, and we offer both scheduled check-ins and as-needed conversations.

For healthcare providers: We maintain professional communication protocols that ensure continuity of care, including detailed health updates and prompt notification of any changes in condition. Our goal is to create a collaborative care team that includes you and incorporates your expertise.
